Te Henga Hawke's Bay Chardonnay

This unoaked wine is a pure expression of the Chardonnay grape.

Region:
North Island

Winemaker:
Adam Hazeldine

Recommended Food:
It makes a good partner for all sorts of meals, but try it with Chinese-style stir-fried fish and tomatoes, or casseroled chicken with carrots and baby leeks.

Recommended Cellaring:
0-4 years

Production Notes:
The grapes are harvested in late March/early April. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at cool temperatures to capture primary fruit aromas and freshness. A portion is allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation.

Tasting Notes:
The bouquet displays the soft notes of peach and rock melon with a hint of red apples. The palate is creamy and rich but with enough acid to be fresh. Flavours of peach and melon found on the nose follow through and are joined by apple and citrus.
